Market signal
Price contractions of this magnitude—the average top-20 move exceeded 52 per cent—indicate substantial backing on race day. Whether driven by schooling reports, track conditions, or other market intelligence, the scale of intra-day shortening suggests material support crystallised between evening and the off.
